  1. Background:

    Kibaha Education Centre is a Multi-purpose Educational Institution that is located in Coast Region (Tumbi area) about 40 kilometres (24miles) West of Dar es Salaam along Morogoro Road.  This Centre started in 1963, sponsored by five countries –The then Tanganyika Government on one hand and the Government of four Nordic Countries on the other hand i.e. Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.  The Centre was known as the ‘Nordic Tanganyika Project’ until 1970 when the four Nordic Countries handed it over to Tanzania Government. The Nordic Tanganyika project then became Kibaha Education Centre (KEC) as per establishment Act No. 17 of 1969.  The overall objective of the Centre as originally conceived was, through its institutions, to launch a three frontal attack on the problems of Poverty, Ignorance and diseases collectively named as main development enemies.

  1. MEDICAL ATTENDANT II                                                                     (1 posts)


(a)        Direct Entry Qualifications:Form IV with a certificate in Medical Attendant from any recognized Institution.


 (b)      Duties and Responsibilities:


  1. To carry out general cleaning of wards and its surroundings.

  2. To give bath to bed ridden patients.

  3. To provide and removing bedpans and urinal bottles.

  4. To collect patients’ linen for laundry services;

  5. To escort patients for x-ray, Ultrasound and other diagnostic services;

  6. To take specimen for laboratories and collecting results.

  7. To perform any other duties related to his or her work as may be assigned by Supervisor.

     

      Remuneration:   Salary Scale PMOSS 1.

     


  1. RECORD MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT                                                           (1post)


  1. Direct Entry Qualifications:

    Form IV/VI with a Certificate in Records Management from a recognized Institution.  

     

  2. Duties and Responsibilities:


  1. To assist in tracing records documents and files once required;

  2. To participate in receiving and registering all documents brought in the registry;

  3. To participate in arranging documents and files in racks or cabinets in the registry;

  4. To assist filling documents in the appropriate files;

  5. To distribute incoming and  internally created mails;

  6. To record and arrange for the efficient and timely dispatch of all correspondences;

  7. To perform any other Duties and Responsibilities: related to his/her work as may be assigned by Supervisor.

    Remuneration:     Salary Scale PGSS 1

     


  1. Medical Doctor                                                                                              (2 posts)


  1. Direct Entry Qualifications

    Holder of Bachelor Degree in Medicine (BSc. Med), with Internship and who has been registered by the Medical Council of Tanganyika.

     

  2. Duties and Responsibilities:


  1. To attend in and out patients;

  2. To attend emergency Medical Duties and Responsibilities;

  3. To carry out investigations of admitted patients

  4. To conduct minor operations;

  5. To assist Surgeons at operations;

  6. To carry out service and participating in major  ward rounds;

  7. To supervise Medical Students and interns in Clinical Duties ;

  1. Drivers’ Instructor II                                                                                    (1 post)


  1. Direct Entry Qualifications:

    Form IV/VI , holder of certificate in Driver’s Instructor plus class ‘E’ or ‘C’ driving license.

     

    (b)       Duties and Responsibilities:


  1. prepares  learning resources

  2. assumes leadership roles and Instructs theory and application of automobile driving skills.

  3. Demonstrates and Explains handling of automobile in emergencies, driving techniques, and mechanical operation of automobile.

  4. Performing any other duties related to work as assigned by a supervisor.

  1. Enrolled Nurse II                                                                                          (1 post)


  1. Direct Entry Qualifications:

    Form IV/VI certificate and have attended and passed an Enrolled Nursing course from a recognized Institution and must be registered by the Tanzania Nurses and Midwifery Council.

     

  2. Duties and Responsibilities:


  1. To take general nursing care of patients;

  2. To administer drugs and other treatments as prescribed by medical doctors

  3. To counsel patients;

  4. To educate patients on their health problems;

  5. To perform any other Duties and responsibilities:  related to his/her work as may be assigned by Supervisor.

  1. LIBRARIAN OFFICER II                                                                         (1 post)                                               


(a)        Direct Entry Qualifications


            Holders of Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Librarianship from Institution of higher learning recognized by the Tanzanian Government.


 


(b)       Duties and Responsibilities:


  1. Undertakes bibliographic searches on behalf of users;

  2. Promotes the use of IT in meeting user needs;

  3. Researches on the information needs of users;

  4. Undertakes research and consultancy activities in library / information matters;

  5. Handles challenging professional and supervisory Duties and Responsibilities in the library;

  6. Participates in developing new library systems and procedures and

  7. Performing any other duties related to his or her work as assigned by his or her Supervisor.

  1. SANITARY HAND II                                                                                  (1post)


            (a)        Direct Entry Qualifications:


                        Holder of Form IV Certificate with passes in English and Kiswahili.


            (b)        Duties and Responsibilities:


  1. To clear sewage lagoons;

  2. To clean blocked sewage lines, toilets, kitchen sinks etc;

  3. To order chemicals and disinfectants and sanitary equipment;

  4. To administer proper use of chemicals and disinfectants;

  5. To report any damage or faults in the sanitary system to the authorities and

  6. To perform any other duties related to his or her work as may be assigned by Supervisor.

    Remuneration: Salary Scale POSS 1

     


8. Technician II (Civil)                                                                                      (1 post)


  1. Direct Entry Qualifications:

    Holder of Form IV/VI)  with Full Technician Certificate (FTC) or equivalent in the related field from any recognized institution.

     

  2. Duties and Responsibilities:


  1. To carry out service, installation works in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry and painting Duties and Responsibilities;

  2. To carry out cleaning of machines equipment and working environment;

  3. To assist Engineers in repairing of machines and carry out engineering related activities;

  4. To observe safety precautions to personnel, tools, instruments and equipment and

  5. To perform any other Duties and Responsibilities: related to his/her work as may be assigned by Supervisor.
